Calculation of Food System Sustainability Indicators

We calculated the sustainability indicators that can be used to assess the Swiss food system. The key indicators include greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, water footprints, an assessment of sustainable land use in Switzerland, and the risk of child labor, and living wages in the Swiss food industry’s global supply chains. The sustainability indicators create an important basis for further political discussion in Switzerland.
